How it started

Eve began sewing at the age of 6 while spending time in her grandmother’s fabric shop. This interest evolved from a hobby into the passion for creating and developed the eye for detail that she has today. Eve then attended Marie-Victorin , a fashion college in Montreal and later, refined her extensive background in fashion and interior design. In 2005, Eve designed and handcrafted three handbags as a gift for family and friends. The handbags created such an interest that a friend requested Eve to host an in-home design-your-own-handbag party, later named design social. Eve then put together what would later be called Maëva's first handbag collection. Energized by the guests' excitement, her drive for a new project, and the success of the party, she launched her new business venture. Meeting the right people at the right time has always been a blessing for Eve. In January 2006, she started hiring seamstresses and Mademoiselles (consultants) to help her expand this project. In 2008, Maëva's Service was born. From the very beginning Eve saw that she could bring people together while using her passion and Maëva to change the world one handbag at a time; a dream she caressed from a very young age became reality. Eve's vision, mission and passion are what make Maëva stand out from any other custom handbag company.

P.S. The name Maëva comes from combining the letters of Eve’s given name: Marie-Eve and an accent on ‘Design’, her passion and fire.

We at Maëva Design value people far more than our product. What does this mean? We are a socially responsible company and our ultimate goal is to help people.

Human Connection

By carrying your Maëva handbag, you tell the world that you support a company that values to keep production right here on American soil. We employ seamstresses and consultants that are looking for fun ways to earn extra as well as keeping a healthy family-work life balance, while greatly improving their self-esteem and confidence. They are then able to multiply human connections around them.

Friendship

Through our design socials, we bring people together working on a common project: designing custom handbags. So we are creating new friendships.

Service

We give back to the community every month by partnering with non-profit organizations and donating to them a portion of proceeds.

We aim to be an inspiration to everyone evolving around us and to be a positive effect on their peers, taking small actions steps to change the world one handbag at a time.
